All Gave Some, Some Gave All
We need your heart and dedication to volunteer your time.
We make this call to the next generation to prepare to take our place and continue the tradition of honoring those who served. This one small thing we do, providing final honors of a grateful nation, has become an American tradition we hope to carry on. It’s time, for you, the next generation to join us.
We are the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. We are volunteers; Veterans of all service branches. We are united in the belief that every one of our Honorably Discharged Veterans shall have a military service if so desired.
Military Honors are provided for deceased Veterans of Kent County.
A request is made via the funeral home providing final services. A traditional Military Honor ceremony will include a eulogy by a Commander, a prayer by a chaplin and three rifle volleys, followed by Taps.
It also includes a ceremonial folding of the United States flag and its presentation to the next of kin. It concludes with a presentation of the spent cartridges representing the volleys fired in the rifle salute.
To all the men and women who have proudly served this great nation and the family and friends who love and support them , we thank you.
